Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is the essential tool for a modern editing of digital photography. The histogram of Lightroom is a technical measuring instrument able to display how the image pixels compare to light, ideally divided into four intervals of increasing brightness: shadow, midtone, lights and high lights. The scale of the hue is faithfully represented on the histogram that, starting from the left, returns the darker regions to the far right, which is the area of major concentration of high lights. Without entering the histogram theory, it is interesting to try and understand the real practical advantages. The different colors of the graph are obviously due to the presence of the primary RGB channels (red, green and blue), but in reality there are also areas of gray, cyan, magenta and yellow, representing the intersections of the three primary colours, the combinations Gree + Blue, Red + Blue and Red + Green.
The Library module has been designed also to apply changes to your images simultaneously, an advantage even more evident in the Grid View mode, which facilitates the rapid selection of multiple shots. This working method makes it possible to identify the images selected together by the same criticality, such as for an under / overexposure, or for the same optimization needs, and it is also possible to apply only once the necessary changes (via the Quick Develop panel) and Lightroom will then propagate on the entire group of photographs. A typical situation is represented by images without contrast: the preset Tone Curve, with a dominant color (White Balance option) or desaturated simultaneously (Treatment options). A great time saver indeed!
